Have you ever had those days (or months) where you’ve listed everything down, planned a to-do list, and yet still feel completely unproductive? Sometimes, no matter how organized we try to be, the weight of our own expectations can leave us feeling stuck. But here’s the good news: you don’t need to conquer everything at once. Here’s how you can start, one step at a time:
1. Pick
Just One Thing From Your List and Do It
Yes, just one. Out of the five tasks I couldn’t manage to finish in April, I’m choosing "Edit videos / Clean up my phone." I may not finish it 100 percent, but I’m committing to start, and that’s already a win. Permit yourself to make progress instead of chasing perfection.
2.
Revisit Your Saved Content and Complete Just One
You know all
those videos you’ve saved on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok? Go back and pick
one. Try that recipe you’ve been eyeing since January. Schedule that
long-overdue coffee date. Practice that dance trend, even if you’re not a
dancer. Whatever it is, just do it. Fulfillment doesn’t always come from big
accomplishments. Sometimes, it’s in finally doing that small thing you’ve been
putting off.
3. Overthinking Exercise? Start
Small
If your goal
was to start working out at the beginning of the year and all you've done is a
few scattered workouts, don’t beat yourself up. This May, aim for once a week
movement. Start by walking. If you usually take a cab to the market, try
walking one kilometer instead. It doesn’t have to be grand. It just has to
begin.
Remember
This:
It’s okay to start slow. Today is another chance and another opportunity from God to move toward the life you want. Don’t waste it waiting for the perfect time.
Celebrate your body by using it. Walk, run, stretch, move. Be grateful for the strength renewed every day and for having an able body.
Celebrate the opportunity of having a job by treating yourself to good food. Cook something you love.
Celebrate
the people around you. Spend time with them, appreciate them while you
can.
Don’t wait to give them flowers when they’re gone. Give them now.
We often
realize the value of moments only after they’re gone. Don’t let that
happen.
Start small.
Start now.
Which one small thing will you commit to doing today?
What’s
something you’ve been putting off that you’re finally ready to start?
