How We Spent the First 15 Days of January 2026 (and the Fitness Items We’re Loving)

The first fifteen days of January 2026 felt slower than most days of 2025. We did so much movement, spent a lot of time with mom, my sis, and my man, and I’m happy with how the year started.

If I had to describe this month in one word, it would be “privileged”.

My sister and I are both on a work-from-home setup. That means we don’t necessarily spend hours getting ready, commuting, or sitting in traffic, and that extra time gives us room to do more than just work. Because of that, we have the opportunity to do other things like more movement. So, we spent most of our time working out and running.

I officially started working on January 3. Then, on January 7, I set a small personal goal of a minimum 50 squats daily—whether it was a fitness day, a workday, or a rest day. Looking back, here’s how the first fifteen days of January went:

  • January 1 (Thursday) - New Year Celebration
  • January 2 (Friday) - Bed rot, movies, and a dog bath at the beach.
  • January 3 (Saturday) - Mom’s birthday celebration at Chili’s
  • January 4 (Sunday) - LKBK Go See, bingo with siblings
  • January 5-6 - Work only

  • January 7 (Wednesday) - Incline walk to Eden (6.6 km) at 3:30 pm. (Too hot)
  • January 8 (Thursday) - 5 km run at Coastal Road
  • January 9 (Friday) - Went to BPI and a sister date at Wishbone Toril (we didn’t avail the unlimited meal, yas!)
  • January 10 (Saturday) - College classmates bonding at Matina Enclaves. Morning swim at 9 a.m.; the pool was surrounded by plants that provide shade. Bright sun, cold water—we enjoyed it a lot.
  • January 11 (Sunday) - 30-minute yoga at home
  • January 12 (Monday) - Work and 75 squats
  • January 13 (Tuesday) - 8 km run at Coastal Road
  • January 14 (Wednesday) - One-hour gym session at Metamorph Toril.
  • January 15 (Thursday) - Rest

Taking notes on our activities daily made me appreciate life more. Having the time to move, to rest, to work, and to enjoy every moment with the people you love is such a privilege. And I won’t ever take this lightly.

Feeling healthy, happy, blessed, and full, I think this really is the goal in life.

By the way, I want to share with you the fitness items my sister purchased online that actually make sense to me—and of course, I’m going to use some of them too!

P.S. I delayed uploading my blog because I felt heavy starting January 16 (but we ran 12 km to Times Beach via Coastal Road, only to realize that red days were coming. My mood was lifted when we bought flowers at Bankerohan last Saturday, January 17.

I hope you have a great year ahead. Thank you so much for reading! xoxo

The charcuterie displayed by Emborg was also beautiful and eye-catching – almost as if it completed the whole event aesthetic. ❮ ❯ The atmosphere was warm and fun, filled with entrepreneurs, food lovers, and home bakers excited to learn and explore new products.   One of the highlights of the event was the Unox oven demonstration. They showcased how to bake pastries and transform them inside their smart ovens.   On day one, they shared how to bake such as the traditional mooncakes, panettone, and Taiwanese Popo Buns. Below, I’m sharing th...
